 Musical chairs, also known as Trip to Jerusalem, is a game of elimination involving players, chairs, and music. It is a staple of many parties worldwide.

Gameplay


A set of chairs is arranged with one fewer chair than the number of players (for example, nine players would use eight chairs). While music plays, the contestants walk around the set of chairs. When the music stops abruptly, all players must find their own individual chair to sit on. The player who fails to sit on a chair is eliminated. One chair is then removed for the next round, and the process repeats until only one player remains and is declared the winner.

In Wales, musical chairs had a similar custom to the modern version, with slight differences: the boys would always sit whilst the girls would skip around, always outnumbering the boys. If a girl didn't sit fast enough on the boy's lap, she would have to forfeit. This would continue until the end when the winning girl would kiss the last b

But why is everyone one suddenly loving it? With the release of macOS mojave in 2018, a dark mode interface became one of the biggest attractions and even reasons why people upgrade. The iOS dark mode followed. Developers that create software for Mac and iOS started tailoring their products for dark interfaces. And this is great- at least for your eyes.


If you're using your Mac in the night hours or dark environments, a white screen will definitely give you eyestrain and stress. Even if you decrease the brightness, white backgrounds will be hard on your eyes. This is why dark mode is only about aesthetic- it's an important tool to maintain eye health.

How to turn on dark mode on macOS

Catalina?


Let us say straight away that if you want the best dark theme, your Mac should be running mojave or Catalina dark mode premiered in macOS mojave and has been refined with the release of Catalina. Here's how to enable it:


    Go to the apple menu > system preference

    Click on General

    Select the theme under Appearance


While macOS mojave will give you two options- dark and light,

Catalina adds support for auto dark mode on top. If you set Appearance to Auto , your Mac will automatically enable light mode in the day time and dark mode in the night time.

If you're using an older version of macOS- the one that came before mojave and Catalina- there are ways to darken your screen as well.

This is not going to be a full-featured dark theme,but definitely worth typing if you work in dark spaces.
